Publicly funded agricultural research produces results that rarely reach the farms that need them, and farms generate data that rarely reaches the researchers who could use it. This module connects the two: on-farm trial hosting, structured protocols, consented data contribution and plain-language access to published findings relevant to the holding.
Innovation funding runs through farmer-led programmes designed to move practice from research into use, and the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 creates powers for Smart Data schemes with agrifood named as a candidate sector. That combination makes consented, structured farm data contribution both technically feasible and strategically valuable.
Everything Research & Data records is written into the same platform data spine as every other module, which is why a single entry can satisfy an operational need, a scheme evidence requirement, an assurance clause and a carbon activity line at once.
