Why Drones exists

Drones deliver genuine value in mapping, crop scouting, livestock checking and infrastructure inspection, and are legally constrained for pesticide application in a way the marketing rarely makes clear. This module manages operational authorisation, flight planning and logging, imagery processing, and states the aerial application position plainly so investment decisions are not made on a false premise.

Aerial application of plant protection products is prohibited by default under the Plant Protection Products (Sustainable Use) Regulations 2012, permitted only under a specific Health and Safety Executive aerial spraying permit and considered case by case. Spreading untreated seed and fertiliser, cover crop seeding, and application of certain organic products and biostimulants are not caught by the same prohibition. Civil Aviation Authority rules govern operator competence, categories and operational authorisation.

Everything Drones records is written into the same platform data spine as every other module, which is why a single entry can satisfy an operational need, a scheme evidence requirement, an assurance clause and a carbon activity line at once. That is the whole design premise: the work is already being done, and it is the recording of it that is duplicated.
